63 year-old Mirren works a bikini

After my recent post gave some unwarranted advertising to the men on a mission, I wanted to balance out the bare navel time and follow up with something a little more classy. To the right is a picture taking the Internet by storm of 63 year-old Oscar winning actress Helen Mirren. She has not had surgery, works out at the gym, and tries to eat a healthy diet. There’s an article about it here.

Here she is in The Queen, which incidentally is a very good movie (96% on Rotten Tomatoes), and as you can see she is a bit more dressed playing the Queen of England.

    Does she have children?

If so, I need to get working harder. πŸ™‚

(actually, I’m starting to get a little definition back after #3 – it’s just been harder this time)

She doesn’t. Apparently, she had some sort of intense psychological trauma about childbirth as a teenager. There’s a story about it here.

I guess that lets a lot of mothers off the hook. πŸ™‚

The link you posted had a comment that said the film that traumatized Helen Mirren should be shown to more teens today, to slow down the numbers of teens having babies.

  • adam

Hah! As long as it doesn’t traumatize them into NEVER having babies.

bravo! i think we need to be exposed to more images of normal, healthy women (which is a rather wide range, but still) at different life stages.

It just goes to show that almost every woman, moms are NOT off the hook, can be healthy and in shape. Just goes to show how fat and lazy most of the US is!

M.A.: Amen, and I’m not just saying that because I have a thing for Helen Mirren.

Emily – I think everyone has a thing for Helen Mirren. πŸ™‚ Isn’t it neato when an actor her age still has work?
